Git as a pro -- Break or save your friends' workflow

"Any engineer not using git doesn't understand software", said the prototypical software engineer. And many would agree. Except we ourselves are sometimes not really sure what things like HEADs, blobs, trees, commit objects, and branches exactly are, so we end up running list of commands found on StackOverflow and hope they will fix our broken workflow. But how does git _actually_ work?

This session will leave you not just with a flurry of commands, but with an understanding of how git operates under the hood, so that you will always be able to save yourself. And, since with great powers come great responsibility, maybe also screw somebody else up.

Software Engineer & Technical Writer

I love technology, science, and math, and also writing, classical music, light, and movement. I mostly write rants, but since I have not been able to turn that into a paid job, I also write code and technical documentation. I started developing in middle school to automate my math homework, and never stopped ever since. My knack for teaching eventually got me into writing clear and pedagogical documentation for developers.
